About Umiuse
The captain's thoughts

Touching, seeing, and smelling nature... I wonder how it all looks to the children.

We search for fish every day so that we can accommodate a wide variety of fishing needs, from delicious fish like filefish and sillago in the inner bay to large game fish in the open sea such as sea bream, yellowtail, and Spanish mackerel.

Ship introduction
■ Ship name: ISLANDS
■ Capacity: 10 people
■ YANMER DE30EZ Inboard/Outboard Motor 110hp
I acquired this boat from an acquaintance in February 2022, and over the course of three months, I did everything myself, from the electrical wiring and engine maintenance to installing the radar and fish finder, and painting the entire boat.
The ship's name, ISLANDS, was chosen to evoke the scenery of the numerous islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea.
To bring home the fish I catch while keeping them alive and to enjoy them deliciously, I considered the performance of the live well, and decided that a fishing boat type vessel would be best. I chose this type of boat prioritizing fishing performance over appearance.
This is the third boat I've owned, named ISLANDS.

Introduction to the Sea
The fishing grounds are located in the waters surrounding Yashirojima Island, the third largest island in the Seto Inland Sea, which floats in the Suo Sea east of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The defining characteristic of this area is undoubtedly the "currents." Depending on the tide (spring tide to neap tide), wind direction, and time of day, you have to change your fishing spot and target fish, requiring quick decision-making based on experience.
However, depending on the season and conditions, even beginners have a high chance of catching a big fish, which can dispel common misconceptions about fishing such as "fishing is boring because it's a lot of work " or "it's difficult for beginners to catch a big fish."
